Pete,

 Check very carefully the routes and the subnet masks on both ends
especially the default route on the JetDirect card. I have seen cases
where PING works but other services don't because of this.  How are
the T/R segments connected? Switch/ROuter/Bridge?  If Router it is
possible that port 9100(?) is not routed.
