I've got a file in LIBRARYA that requires that it has a parent in a file in LIBRARYB. Since the parent file has multiple members, I cannot use referential integrity. Instead I am setting up a trigger. The problem is that the trigger may be triggered by something other than a green screen application. In this case, Domino Enterprise Connection Services or DECS. Now this program has no valid library list. So I open the file, user controlled after the OVRDBF. The file will not open. I've tried all three options on the OVRSCOPE on the OVRDBF. I use the OVRDBF by calling QCMDEXC. No error appears during the call to QCMDEXC. The program is RPG ILE I've rewritten the trigger program using SQL, with no OVRDBF and it works great. I just can't drop the other method because of sheer stubborness.
