  • Subject: AS400 start an app on the PC

Is there a way for the AS400 to run an application, such as MS Access app or
DOS batch file, on a remote PC without installing Client Access on the
remote PC? The AS400 would be dialing directly into the PC's modem.

We prefer not to install Client Access because of it's size; also, we don't
need or want the PC users to communicate with the AS400 directly.

In a nutshell want we want to do is:
1. Send files from the AS400 to the PC.
2. Have the AS400 start an application on the PC.
3. When the application has finished, transfer files from the PC to the AS400.

If the answer is too lengthy to print here, then any books, sites, vendors,
etc. that you could direct me to would be greatly appreciated.
