I think virtually every established AS/400 software package has some sort of pre-compiler for source dont they, so that every object can be created from source including data queues, data areas, binding directories etc. for object management purposes, or running commands to create output files need at compile time, eg, DSPFD output file. -----Original Message----- From: david.kahn@gb.abb.com [mailto:david.kahn@gb.abb.com] Sent: Friday, April 30, 1999 10:17 AM To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com Subject: Re: Implicit Access Path Sharing Mark Lazarus <mlazarus@ttec.com> wrote: > I don't like that solution. Along with Larry and James, it seems, and no doubt ithers too numerous to mention. I must admit it has never occurred to me to create an extra logical with a shared access path to avoid a compile and run time override. I honestly hadn't realised that the overhead was so low and I will definitely be investigating further. Well this is rare, but I finally get a chance to say something nice about J.D. Edwards. I have to admit that without some kind of extra tool compile time overrides are a royal PITA.
