  • Subject: RE: IFS disk usage & backup

How can I see how much disk space is being used by the folders on the IFS?

ANSWER:  The see the overerall usage in the IFS goto the Operation assistant;
GO ASSIST, take option 11, option 4, then option 1 to collect disk space
information and then option 2 to print it. On the summary page 1 the following
appears:

                                                % of         Size in
Description                                     Disk     1,000,000 bytes
User libraries                                 61.63           95290.37
User directories                               16.23           25091.05
Folders and documents                            .53             826.40

The user directories line is the amount of disk space used overall for your
directories and contents.

How would I backup and restore this space (or selected directories)?

Answer: The commands are SAV and RST, the CL Reference manual has some
excellent examples of backing up and restoring the IFS.

Good luck

Bob M
