OK, here is the native OS/400 zip (I hope):
o Install V4R3M0
o Copy the file to IFS
o Create a Java program that opens a (native Java and thus native OS/400)
zip-file
o Do whatever needed from here

A guy at one of my customers is working on this. I'll return with further
details. Maybe somebody knowing ALL standard Java Classes can supply the
details before that.

When do you thing IBM will supply a native zip engine that will allow the
ability to compress files on the IFS in zip format.  This is a needed
component when trying to give file data to customers accessing
information from the web server.  I cannot believe they have not ported
this capability yet.  It would be nice to send report data from regular
programs to the ifs and zip it with CL commands.
