Max. program size

What is the maximum RPG/400 program size? Is this dependant upon the number of
files used in the program or the number of executable lines of code? We have run
into a situation where a compile of one of our JDE programs fails with CPF6301
(Error in Compiler. Compile terminated). We are on V4R3M0.
Has anyone run into this situation before? What are the alternatives? Convert
pgm to ILE??
