     Are you by some chance running this on one of the "server" models? 
     Your system may just be throttling down interactive response to 
     improve batch thruput. I doubt that those status messages account 
     for THAT much loss........

Is there any way to suppress the status message that OPNQRYF puts out to the
screen to count the records processed and records selected?

I have noticed that if I run the program in batch, it runs in 1-2 minutes,
but interactively, it is taking over 5 minutes.  So I thought if I can kill
this message, the interactive would run faster as well.
