  • Subject: TCP/Ip Outq REstore

Just wanted to share something I learned this weekend while doing a full
restore of a system:

        - You may encounter problems while restoring remote outq's if you create
"dummy" print devices(done to enable to outq's to show up in Client Access
/ Office Vision/ etc) and create your print outqs in Qusrsys.

        - The problem is that when you run the rstcfg and it restores the dummy
print devices the operating system creates outqs to associate with the
print devices. When you later restore qusrsys the remote outq restores will
fail since the objects are already there.

        - My solution was to delete the print devices and their associated outqs
and then restore the outqs into qusrsys using the rstobj command. I then
recreated the "dummy" print devices. (You may be able to leave the objects
and use the rstobj command and specify alwobjdif *yes.)

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Michael
