Both of the cables I tried adding to that port yesterday were OK.  But,
would you believe . . . 2 of the 3 _existing_ cables on that port were
bad.  Both of them failed the "twist the end" test.  Yet both of them
test OK when plugged into my twinax cable tester!

I may take up Roger's advice on the single malt though . . . <g>
