>> Is this still true with ILE programs that are created in a named activation group if that AG stays active? Yes it is. When using an AG you introduce a third possible state for the program. The three are: 1) Called previously and returned with LR off - same as OPM (the most efficient) 2) Called previously, and ran in an Activation Group which still exists. (second best) 3) Never Called or Called previously and returned with LR on - same as OPM. (the worst) For the second one, the compiler generates code that allows the program to "pretend" to go away. When it is called again internal logic re-opens the files, initializes the storage, etc. The only time that is saved is the initial program resolution. +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
