Carl,

If you want to do this manually, ie from the command line, use the
following procedure (which works fine for me):

1. Create a savefile on the target AS/400 in library QGPL (If you do not
have a savefile on the target machine I believe a data file is created for
the received file)
2. Open an FTP session to the target machine - FTP 'internet address of
target AS/400'
3. Sign on to the target AS/400 when prompted
4. Type BINARY and press enter - This does a binary transfer and will not
translate any characters
5. Enter the following : PUT 'File name to be sent' 'Name of file on target
machine'
6. When transferred, enter QUIT to close the FTP session.

If you are on the target machine, change the internet address in point 2 to
that of the source machine and use GET instead of PUT in point 5.

In most cases, FTP uses QGPL as the default library. It is there that it
will look for the source and target files. I believe you can change that
by specifying a path or by issuing a change directory (cd) command.

Good luck.
