For our disaster recovery tests in the past, we have always contacted the software vendor prior to the test, and provided a serial number (when possible - SunGuard can't always predict that number), and get the authorization from them.  Simple, easy, and the only *right* way to do it, IMO (which, in this case is not so humble).  Believe me, when the vendor is aware of what you're up to, you have a much better chance of success - because they're in your court.
