I'm waiting for the backlash myself. Some day maybe they'll all wake up and look at how big their MIS departments are getting and how many different software packages they are implementing and managing... how many interfaces they have to babysit... and wish they had stuck with the AS/400 and kept it simple. Just my opinion... but then again "progress" continues in spite of itself. I would love to hear what other people think about this since I am just a young pup and my (perhaps biased) opinions are still in their formative years. -----Original Message----- From: Lok Yek Soon [mailto:slok@silkroute.com] Sent: Wednesday, January 20, 1999 4:53 AM To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com Subject: Re: VB Future ? & Visual Age RPG Bruce Odum wrote: >We switched to VB for the > simple reason it is easier to find VB programmers than it is to find RPG > programmers or Visual RPG programmers. while the discussion focus on VB and RPG, I can't help but wonder that it will be inevitable as the industry changes that one needs to move on to embrace other 'solutions' like Java. Just my personal opinion.
