You are using an HFS API. HFS is not the same as IFS; it's a subset of IFS. From the HFS API manual: "The APIs automatically support the document library services (DLS) file system and the optical file system (QOPT), and they can support user-written file systems also." Check out the Unix-type APIs manual, chapter 2, for IFS APIs.
