That's a shame that some shops are being misled. Last March I downloaded the AS/400 Portable Configurator from the IBM web site and configured a 2-way S20 with 2Gb of memory and 200Gb of DASD. I configured it with 17.5Gb drives, and that's the one thing IBM recommended we change. On their recommendation we went with the 8Mb drives, and maxed the box out at 30 drives. The box was delivered and powered up three weeks ago, and I recently finished the configuration and application loading. It was great having the opportunity to take the acquisition of this machine from the initial configuration, all the way through the purchase, installation, and configuration. I've had a lot of fun! It will be dedicated to Y2K testing at first, and then will become our general development and testing machine.
