Archie:
You need to verify that you have an appc connection between the 2 machines.
Can you do a passthru between the 2 systems? That will verify that the 2
systems are set up for APPC. Then you need to be sure that you have set up
the distribution queues between the 2 systems. Generally you need to create
a distibution queue on each system and point it to the remote system. Use
the command CFGDSTSRV (options 1 and 2 to set up the distribution queue and
the remove system defn). You also need to be sure the user id that you wish
to send from and a Generic id for the system you want to send to are set up
in your distribution table. Use the WRKDIR command. It is usually best to
set up a *ANY SYSTEMB to send a spool file (or database file) to any user on
SYSTEMB. You can explicitly put each user in the directory on SYSTEMA for
users on SYSTEMB but the maint is a pain and the *ANY entry works just as
well.
You can use the WRKDSTQ command to check on the distirbution queue to see if
anything is sending or waiting to send to the remote system. You also need
to be sure that the subsystem QSNADS is started on both systems.
HTH, if you have any specific questions, let me know.
