Christopher,

I've used both Mocha Soft and PSI 3164 for internet access to our AS/400.

Here's a map of our installation and it may give you some assistance.

At the host (AS/400) site:

AS/400 has internal IP address 10.0.1.x (private) and Telnet server running
AS/400 is connected to a router via Ethernet hub where the router has address
277.57.xxx.xx (public)
The router has been configured to forward Telnet requests at port 23 to 10.0.1.x
(the AS/400)

At the remote site:
For single users (from home) they just make their internet connection then
startup the Telnet program and connect to host 277.57.xxx.xx
For small networks they too are connected to a router. Within their internet
connection, they use the router's IP address as their "gateway" and Telnet to
277.57.xxx.xx

In the above situations where I've specified a router, it could just as well be
a
PC running a proxy server.

HTH,

James W. Kilgore
