>Does anyone know what style guidelines IBM follows for hardcopy >documentation? For example, fonts for keys a user types, information a >user types (on a command line or parameter line) and so on. What is the >style usage for bolding, italicizing, quotation marks? What style is >used when referencing a field name or menu option in text? David-- Print shops can sell you a little eyepiece thing you lay on a printed document and look into to show what size type is being used. Get one and use it to see who is doing what that you like. As for style thoughts, look closely at IBM's redbook style that uses sans serif type faces almost exclusively--I find that fatiguing and think redbooks make a great arguement for setting type with a conventional, easy to read, small but heavily-lead serif. Remember too, whitespace, whitespace, whitespace. rp +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
