I am trying to configure an AT&T Dataport 14.4 modem for synchronous
communications between AS/400s. The manual says the AT &Q1 command will put
the modem in synchronous mode using the AT protocol to dial and AT &Q2 uses
the number stored in directory location 1.(As far as I know the AS/400
doesn't use either method). I tried both settings and the modem doesn't do
anything.

We are already using an IBM modem on one line and it works fine but we need
more lines. We have several of these modems on hand and I would like to use
them if possible.

Will this modem work for this?
