::: 2) The relative effectiveness of the UI depends solely on the ::: design of the app. I'm happy that you like quicken and it's UI, but ::: in most cases, for standard data entry tasks, the green screen ::: rules. Users don't need as much training, less chance of technical ::: problems, more reliability, etc. Training? I visited a web page today for the first time. Never been there before. Yet ... I was able to use it with no problems, and without training. The GUI was well thought out. Reliability? That's not an issue of GUI, it's an issue of the OS running on the PC.
