Kris,

Have you looked into a pre-insert trigger that updates the record buffer with
the alternate value? You will need to specify ALWREPCHG(*YES) in this case.

Hi,
As part of the Y2k testing that we are ayttempting, we need both 6 digit
date versions and 8 digit date versions of the file to be kept in sync.
However we end up with the triggert program locking itself out.
FileA(6 digit version) has a record written to it, so *AFTER *INSERT
trigger program goes off and updates FILEA(8 digit version) which triggers
an update on FILEA(6 digit version). We have code to check the record being
updated and drop out of the loop. But, the second jump back to FILEA(6 digit
version) finds the record locked, since the intial trigger has not
completed.

We've come up with a way to get around this, clumsily.

        Anyone got any good ideas?
