You could always format it with a PC program first.

An AWK program on the PC could do this. It would be VERY easy to write;
EXTREMELY easy.

Or VB.

I don't see it as being THAT difficult on the 400 side, either. It may seem
intimidating at first glance ... but think about it, and I'm sure you see that
it's not as tough as it initially seems. Having done quite a bit of data
collection programming, I've done a lot of this stuff -- all in RPG (NOT ILE).
ILE will make it even easier.

Have fun; this is the type of stuff that makes programming fun.
