First of all are you on V3R2, V3R7 or Version 4. If so, you have both RPGIII (RPG/400) and RPGIV (ILE RPG) available. If you do, examine the source member type of your RPG Source files. If the type is RPG you are RPGIII, if the type is RPGLE you are ILE RPG. You can easily convert RPGIII to RPGIV using the CVTRPGSRC Command supplied by IBM. It isn't the greated conversion but it works and your programs should compile. We use a conversion program from CONNECT 2000 to do a more complete RPG to RPGIV conversion. Hi I got a question for all the more experienced RPG programmers out there. Is there a way I can find out exactly what version of RPG we are using? I believe its RPG III. What we would like to be at is RPG IV or RPG/400(ILE?). Its kind of confusing to me, but I know since we can only have 6 digit Result fields in our RPG programs we are behind. Also is RPG/400 and ILE RPG the same thing?
