David, You could remove certain messages from the error message subfile . We do this for system messages, since they often are too technical for normal users. (and besides often are even too incomprehensive for us, when they are 'translated' to our own language) Our applications end their own 'end user' messages. Before writing the errormessage subfile (and if the msgqueue in the errmsgsfl is the same as the pgmmsgq, we strip off the system messages (CP*, CEE*, RPG*, RN*, MCH* ). I suppose you could do the same and do your own selection of msgremoval. We do this ever since we started developing on the AS400, so the routine still uses receive & resend msg commands, but the same can also be done with the msgapis.
