I don't quite understand the problem .. at least, in the (ancient) version of JDE that I am Y2K'ing, Dreamwriter is a utility that o selects and sorts records from a file, usually via OPNQRYF o accepts and stores values for various options/variations o calls an RPG program to do something with the records and options. The inability to use a multi-format logical is a constraint of OPNQRYF, I think.
