Do you have Query and Office Vision? These, in combination, make a good solution for generating labels. Another alternative, (although you'll spend more time supporting it than you would generating RPG code), is to go Client Server. You could either download necessary data to the PC or use an ODBC connection. Judging from my coworkers and I's limited exposure to AFP utilities, I don't think they would qualify as an 'easier' solution. bclark@ussafety.com on 10/28/98 10:17:06 AM Please respond to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com@Internet To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com@Internet cc: Subject: Re: GENERATION OF LABELS Not within the O/S itself. However IBM sells a product called Advanced Function Print Utilities. This product lets you create a quasi printer file on the screen including embedding and formatting data fields from a physical file. It also lets you specify record selection criteria for the printing of these records. This product is somewhat expensive though(we paid $5000 US for a P20 machine). Disclaimer: I am not a reseller of IBM products.
