Dear Tracey, Zebra thermal printers only print data when they receive data in the Zebra Printer Language (ZPL) format. If you send plain text to the Zebra printer, the printer will allow the information to pass through its buffer without performing any kind of printer function. This behavior (flush data) frequently causes problems when running problem determination from an AS/400. The important thing to check with IBM support is whether it is possible to send spool files from the AS/400 to the target printer. If yes (no labels printed), you need to investigate whether the AS/400 application that generates the Zebra printable data has somehow become improperly configured regarding this particular printer. If no, you need IBM's help to determine why you cannot send data through the 3197 to the printer. One thing to check on the Zebra configuration is whether the parallel or serial port is active. One printers with both ports, usually only one can be active. If you are attached to the printer's parallel port from the 3197 and the printer has its serial port active, you wouldn't be able to print any data through the 3197 into the printer. Hopefully some of this information may be useful to you. Best Regards, /Paul -- Paul Tykodi, Technical Director E-mail: pault@praim.com Praim Inc.
