Here is a brief time line of events... 1. Monday 7:30 System crashed with dead load source 2. I got the call around 8:30 3. IBM was called 4. CE shows up at 10:30(with NO disk drive) 5. CE determines that system is in fact dead and needs drive (11:45) 6. Leaves to get drive 7. Returns with drive at 1:45PM 8. Starts install 9. CE realizes at this point he needs LIC tape for V3R1 (2:30PM) 10 CE leaves to get a copy of LIC 11.CE returns with LIC and puts in on 12.We attempt to use SYSBAK tape... fails with mismatch LIC vs OS/400 13. I realize at this point, the CE(who has left) has installed wrong version of LIC(V3R2) 14. It is now 7:00PM (customer says he can't take anymore) we quit for the day... Tuesday.....CE is called back to reinstall LIC 1.CE shows up at 11:30AM with V3R1 LIC and does install 2.We attempt another reload with system backup 2:00PM 3.It fails(media error)NO more copies available 4.I decide that we MUST install V3R2 with SCRATCH install... 5.Called IBM and now need to reinstall V3R2 LIC 3:00 PM 6.CE calls and says current copy is in use at another account 7. I go into DEMO for another customer till 6:30PM 8. ANOTHER DAY ENDS Wednesday..... 9:30AM 1. CE shows up with V3R2 LIC... 2. WE will start scratch install in about an hour..... 3. Please consider prayer as day goes on..... +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
