This venting cross-posted to Newslink/400, Midrange-l, and comp.sys.ibm.as400.misc. Some of you, especially those of you on Midrange-l, are aware that the brand-new service pack for Client Access for Win 95/NT V3R1M3, SF50480, breaks keyboard buffering in PC5250 in the same way that SF49654 breaks it in V3R1M2, despite the fact that it's been 2 months since that bug was released and a number of people have reported it. Today I tried to report it as a problem using ECS (the ANZPRB procedure). Well, guess what, sports fans! The answer the stupid thing gave me back was that I already had the fixing PTF on my system. You know what the fixing PTF is supposed to be? Why, SF50480, of course! Yeah, it fixed it all right, sure it did. Stupid brain-dead machines. How much do you want to bet that when I report the problem over the phone that they'll hit me with a support charge against our hourly contract? After all, "it's not a bug, it's a feature".
