The accounts that I've dealt with have used the network connection (via jet direct box) for the last six years, and TCP/IP (without jet direct for the most part) for the last 3. When I still dealt with the printer port on the terminal, I often found that you were held hostage by the firmware on the terminal -- _ESPECIALLY_ non-IBM terminals. An OS/400 upgrade would frequently cause hardware to cease to function properly -- _ESPECIALLY_ annoying when an old Decision Data terminal used as the console ceased to function halfway through a V2R1 upgrade!
