You may want to look at a product from CST that wrappers 5250 transactions
as java APIs at www.cst.com.

Otherwise you will probably have to be doing some serious re-writes to your
existing app, if it is 5250 based.  If it is client-server enabled you can
do the calls from Java on the 400 with some limitations

Hi,

      How do we web enable existing AS/400 applications. I need to
interface an existing application on AS/400 with a Java application
running on a different platform.
      For example in an E-Commerce setup - A query originates from a
java application and expects the required data from AS/400 using another
existing AS/400 legacy application.
      Pl. inform me of any Object Request Broker products existing for
AS/400 platform and also any info on AS/400 web enabling (Application -
Application interface).
