  • Subject: HP5 as AS400 Printer
  • From: Joe Giusto <JGiusto@xxxxxxxxxxxx>

I am having trouble using HP LaserJet 5L as an AS400 printer. We had a
4L attached and working fine thru client access. When we put in the
HP5L, we started getting the error:
PCWS caused a general protection fault in module HPPCL5E.DRV at
0003:000012df.

When trying to configure the printer in CA, for printer setup there is a
listing for the 4L but not the 5L. I have the printer working ok thru
windows so I know that I have the drivers.

I am really stuck on this one. I have deleted device descriptions and
recreated them, even tried changing the device description on the 400 to
*HP5. Still no luck. The only other thing I can think of might be
reloading CA.

I know I threw this question out before, but I was unable to get it
resolved and now I am getting some static. So any help or suggestions
would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
