A wise AS/400 programmer told me once that 90% of all problems are caused by the Library List. Job Schedule Entries have a very peculiar habit of: A) Using the Library List from the interactive job that created the Job Schedule Entry. B) Not showing you what that Library List was/is. The only way that you will find this out is to examine the library list of the job while it is running, or examine the joblog of a recently completed submission. You may find that the job is running under a bad Library List. In this way the Job Scheduler mimics the behaivor of the SBMJOB command. SBMJOB's default is to use the current Library List of the submitting job. This can cause the SBMJOB to work correctly one day and incorrectly the next. jte Erick Garske wrote: > I have a utility that can seems to behave in two different ways when > submitted using sbmjob and submitted using a scheduled job entry. > Moreover, in some instances the sbmjob does not generate the same > results as an interactive job. > > 1) When a submitted from an interactive job using submit job it > appears to work correctly accessing files in the correct manner > and producing the correct output. > > 2) When submitted from a scheduled job entry no output is produced. > > I know that when a sbmjob entry is evoked it copies the user environment > and authority well enough. > > The schedule job entry has QSECOFR as the user and contains a job > description that would mirror the environment of the interactive job (I > belive with the same library list).
