If you are referring to me as one of the Dave's, yup I am still here and eavesdropping for a couple of months.  Digest mode is great, but replying takes a lot of cut-paste :-)

Long live CISC  (or am I supposed to say CISC is dead, long live RISC ?).   I heard a rumor that IBM is preparing for V3R3 with currency extending to 2005 ;-)  Any truth to this?

Haven't heard about this _particular_ decision, but where have you been for
the last two years ;-)?  CISC is dead, regardless of how all of us feel
about
it.  This brings up the sad realization that we haven't heard from our two
big
CISC proponents in the former Soviet Union lately -- the two "Daves".
Anyone
heard from them lately?  The list is diminished by their absence, IMHO...
