     Date/time fields consist of two attributes: The format (YMD, MDY, 
     etc) and separator character ('-', '/', etc)

I agree. I knew that separators are missing when I got the compile error. But 
the manual says " if the result field is character, both digit and separators 
are tested". What does this mean? If we have character result field testing, 
does this mean that we have to test for separators also? I didnot understand 
this statement properly.  Please clear my doubt!!
