I don't know what to suggest except to ask to have a conference call with
the developers so that you can explain the situation to them.  Often even
if they can "see" the problem they don't understand how annoying it can be
for end users and how bad it makes the AS/400 look.  There is no obvious
reason why they should not accept this as a design problem and respond with
a fixed-next-release or something.



The only excuses for not fixing a design problem/error such as this are 1)
It would cause compatibility problems for existing users. or 2) It can't be
changed because there's not enough "room" to add it to the controller's
firmware.  In either case the response should be Permanent Restriction, not
WAD.
