One of my clients was also looking for HR, in a distributed environment.

Peoplesoft took a heavy load on the netwerk, min 128KB for one client.
This firm is starting now with SAP R/3 and its HR module.
No experience yet but, should be less demanding on the network and includes
the complete SAP package.
