Wayne,

The way to do this is to put the ftp commands (including logon,
password and quit) in a separate source file, and just before you run
ftp, do a OVRDBF INPUT tofile(library/sourcefile) member(membername)

This causes the ftp to read it's commands from the file instead of
opening an interactive session.

You can also do an OVRDBF OUTPUT to another file, and all status and
error messages will be put in that file for error/completion checking.
