Brad, I agree. When I interviewed for my job, (extremely green, not quite out of school yet) our IS manager asked me what I would do if I was driving down the road and my car started shaking and riding rough (ie. flat tire). The answer is quite telling about a person and how they would react to and solve a problem. I've always felt that you can teach someone to use the tools of the trade, but not 'how' to think logically. What good is a toolbox full of wrenches to a plumber, if he does have enough sense to cut the water off.
