Nope.  Normal sav/rst rules don't apply here.  You can
use the IBM DUPTAP command without concern about the release
levels-the machine just copies whatever's on one tape to the
next.

If 'duplicating tapes' actually means 'creating tapes' from
disk to media then there may be release level concerns.
