No, it definitely does not delete them.

It processes each spool file and ensures that the status of them agrees
with what the system thinks it is.

For example:
 If a spool file is deleted, and consequently the file member in the
database file in QSPL is removed, but the entry is not removed from the
output queue, or the job is not updated to say that the spool file has
gone, or any other type of mismatch or out of synch condition, then this
program is supposed to correct that.

This is how it was explained to me, and every time I have used it, it has
worked.

I once had a spool file whose status was 'HLD' for Held.  I put a 6 to
release it, and it would return the message, 'spool file not released, file
not held'.
After running the QSPFIXUP pgm, then I released it, and it printed.

I saw from one of your previous posts that the spool files in question had
now disappeared.  Did you try this program?  Had you also tried RCLSPLSTG?
Or did they just 'disappear' on their own.  
(Its not like the AS/400 to make things disappear, I thought that special
magic was reserved for PC's).
