Bob,

The Rename Object (QLIRNMO) API has no objections with working with
"non-standard" names.  The following works quite well on my system:

call qlirnmo ('0123456   TESTLIB   ' '*USRSPC   ' 'AGOODNAME TESTLIB   '
'1' 0)

PS - the calling of QLIRNOBJ probably would succeed on systems with a security
level less than 40 ("succeed" meaning no domain violation), but that would be
using an undocumented interface into the system that would not be supported
by IBM.  Also there are more parameters than the three cited when calling the
CPP directly...
