Rob,
You are quite right that the file does not get deleted until the IBM
SMTP support decides to process the mail. Why not use a unique name for
each of the files? You could create a unique name from a date/time
stamp, data area, recipient name, or? This should also resolve the
problem with determining if the file already exists.
