Hello! I was quite excited when I discovered IBM has AFP print drivers for Windows 95 on the Web with easy to follow instructions. I have tried creating very simple print files in both M$ Word as well as notepad, printing it as a file to a shared folder, then entering these AS/400 commands: 1. CRTPF FILE(lib/WORKF) RCDLEN(8201) LVLCHK(*NO) 2. CPYFRMPDC FROMFLD(folder) TOFILE(lib/WORKF) FROMDOC(980820.prn) TRNTBL(*NONE) TRNFMT(*NOTEXT) 3. CRTOVL OVL(lib/MYOVL) FILE(lib/WORKF) MBR(WORKF) Each time, step 3 results in the following error: Message ID . . . . . . : CPD88C0 Severity . . . . . . . : 30 Message . . . . : File WORKF in MEADE not valid for creating a *OVL. Cause . . . . . : The file or member cannot be used to create a printer resource. *N means that the incoming data was an internal system space. No source file or library is specified. The reason code is 02. The reason codes and their meanings are: 1 - A length field contained in the incoming data for the printer resource is not correct. 2 - The structured field identifier in the incoming data for the printer resource is not correct or is not supported. The error was detected while processing record 1, byte number 52. The structured field which is not correct may be caused by a length that is not correct on the previous structure field. The structured field which was being processed at the time is '5A0033D3A8A8'X. 3 - The file or member specified contains no data. Recovery . . . : Verify that the names of the file, library, and member are specified correctly on the command. I have no idea what to do, or what I've done wrong. Has anyone seen this problem? Can anyone help, or direct me to a source of help? (Another thing that really makes this weird is that a couple months ago, using an earlier version of the driver, I was able to create an overlay with a table from Word, but all the characters were translated to gobbledygook. Now I can't even get that far with the updated driver!) thanks for any help you can provide! rwm Robert Meade CIS Manager Worldwide Church of God +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
