John,

I don't believe that you can do that exactly, but what you might try is   
to concatenate this to a string of, let's say, 30 spaces...then scan from   
the left for 30 spaces. It will find the end of your data and will ignore   
any embedded blanks (assuming they're less than 30 characters). Hope this   
helps.

Is it possible to scan a string from the right in RPG?

I need to find the end of a character string that may have
embedded blanks in it.  It seems like the best way to do
that is to scan from the right for the first non-blank
character.

Any ideas?
