You can get rid off the password flying around in the plain text memer. Create
a screen to accept the user name and password. (you will be having a NonDisplay
keyword for the password field!!)

Before this, keep a template FTP source commands file. The template will have
some blanks. Based on the inputs from the user, build the FTP input source
commands members from the template by filling the blanks appropriately. For
example, you can have your template look like this

%USR
%PWD
.....
.....
..... <<all other transfer PUT/GET commands>>
QUIT

Scan for %USR and %PWD and replace these with the user specified USERNAME and
PASSWORD. Build this source and do a

OVRDBF FILE(INPUT) TOFILE(this dynamically built FTP commands source
member)
FTP (RMTSYS)
DLTOVR *ALL

Dont forget to delete the dynamically built FTP commands source. Otherwise the
password will be open. HTH.
