AS long as you don't drop it or play pingpong in the back of the truck while your moving it, it should be fine. REMEMBER to LABEL the cables and were they go. If this is a multiframe unit then have a IBM or other maint. company do all the disconnects and any packing they deem fit. Then let them unpack it. If anything doesn't make the trip then they can't blame YOU. OH! BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP in case the disks aren't happy about moving ---------- From: Guzak, Michael To: Midrange List (E-mail) Subject: Moving An AS/400 Date: Monday, August 10, 1998 10:41AM We're going to be relocating to a new facility quite soon. Since the distance is quite close, we will be doing most of the moving ourselves (especially computers). Any advice for moving an AS/400? It will likely go over in the back of someone's van. Should it be packaged up for such a short trip ( 2 miles). Will it be safe if I just go along with it (and sit on it)? +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +--- +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
