O.K., I have been getting conflicting information on this question for the past couple months, and I'm hoping the vast knowledge of this list can provide me with some sort of consensus. The question is: How many devices can be active concurrently on a local twinax controller? How many on a remote controller (as far as OS/400 is concerned)? I recall only being able to have around 40 devices active on a local twinax controller, even though you could physically attach up to 56. I heard a rumor that this had changed sometime since V3R2, and now you can attach AND HAVE ACTIVE a full 56. Is this true? Does this also work with remote controllers? A related question: Decision Data is marketing a 5494-emulation remote controller that they say will support a total of 224 twinax devices. Does anyone know if OS/400 would restrict this in some way?
