Mission critical systems should NOT require rebooting once or twice a day.
I can see it now:

Captain:  Mr. LaForge!  Where the hell are my engines?

Jordi:  Engines are offline, Captain.  I'm on it....

(later)

Jordi:  So you see, Captain, the memory overflow caused the buffers to fill
and thus caused the engines to go offline.

Captain (mumbling):  You'd think they'd debug these things before they let
them loose.  (to Jordi): Do something about it, Jordi... I don't want this
to happen again.
